Student Work

At Indiana University, we believe that hands-on work is paramount to your development as an aspiring sports media member. We pride ourselves on giving students the most opportunities of any school in the country to cover the highest levels of major collegiate athletics. Our students get hands-on experience through a diverse group of award-winning media outlets, as well as through special opportunities sponsored by the National Sports Journalism Center.

When you’re a sports media student at IU, you get to cover almost every Big Ten varsity sport, which includes some of the biggest games in the country on a given night. You get access to the technologies of the Mark Cuban Center for Sports Media and Technology, which is officially partnered with both The Media School and the NSJC. And you get to cover amazing non-varsity events, such as the world-famous Little 500 bicycle races every April.

This page showcases the work that our students do. Many of our aspiring sports media students start working in student media the minute they step on campus, allowing them to gain four valuable years of experience in writing, talking, tweeting, and thinking about sports.
