What he did at IU: Evans Scholar (caddied at Inverness Golf Club in Palatine, Ill.) Worked at the Indiana Daily Student newspaper for four years.

What he does now: Senior golf writer for ESPN.

What advice he has for sports media students: Be versatile! Learn to do everything. Read as much as possible. Write as much as possible, whether it be short, long, fast, or slow. Get comfortable doing video, learning how to talk on the air, figuring how to do all that yourself if necessary. Above all, be a reporter first. Always ask one more question.
