Media School’s Kincaid uses free time to direct CBS Sports pregame show, Super Bowl

Serving the Media School as its director of facilities and technology just isn’t enough for Jay Kincaid (BA, ’92).

The Bloomington native clocks out locally at 4:30 p.m. Friday — then spends his weekends flying to New York to help the CBS Broadcast Center bring live sports to the world — all before bicycling to work again at 8 a.m. every Monday.

It’s his schedule for 40 weeks each year, directing That Other Pregame Show, as well as Super Bowl and NCAA March Madness coverage. More than 700 flights to New York City have made this 20-year routine possible.

“Just keep doing it ’til it’s not fun,” Kincaid said. “I think that’s it.”
